Teaching the Levees

The United States is running out of time to get its budget and trade deficits under control.  Despite the urgency of the situation, 2010 has been wasted in hype about a non-existent recovery.  As recently as August 2 Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner penned a New York Times column, “Welcome to the Recovery.”

Without a revolution, Americans are history.

As John Williams (shadowstats.com) has made clear on many occasions, an appearance of recovery was created by over-counting employment and undercounting inflation. Warnings by Williams, Gerald Celente, and myself have gone unheeded, but our warnings recently had echoes from Boston University professor Laurence Kotlikoff and from David Stockman, who excoriated the Republican Party for becoming big-spending Democrats.

It is encouraging to see some realization that, this time, Washington cannot spend the economy out of recession. The deficits are already too large for the dollar to survive as reserve currency, and deficit spending cannot put Americans back to work in jobs that have been moved offshore.

However, the solutions offered by those who are beginning to recognize that there is a problem are discouraging. Kotlikoff thinks the solution is savage Social Security and Medicare cuts or equally savage tax increases or hyperinflation to destroy the vast debts.

Russian Scholar Warns Of ‘Secret’ U.S. Climate Change Weapon

As Muscovites suffer record high temperatures this summer, a Russian political scientist has claimed the United States may be using climate-change weapons to alter the temperatures and crop yields of Russia and other Central Asian countries.

In a recent article, Andrei Areshev, deputy director of the Strategic Culture Foundation, wrote, “At the moment, climate weapons may be reaching their target capacity and may be used to provoke droughts, erase crops, and induce various anomalous phenomena in certain countries.”

That’s interesting. I’m just afraid that, in an effort to “rectify” this problem “we” will need to get rid of the Social Security Card (and social security) all together and issue new Global ID cards with RFID tracking chips and a sample of your DNA embedded in them, “to stop terrorism”. The new cards will also have to be hackable by the average 5th grader (that as we all know, are smarter than the rest of us) using only their iPhone!

And yes, I know the Social Security System doesn’t work any better than the numbers themselves, but what of the people who have forcibly paid into the system their whole lives? Do they get a refund check? or a Sorry, sucks to be you letter?

Lets start with the fluoride argument…

THERE IS NO ARGUMENT! FLUORIDE IS A POISON!

According to the above label:

• TARGET ORGANS: Heart, Kidneys, Bones, Central Nervous System, Gastrointestinal System, Teeth
• DO NOT GET IN EYES OR ON SKIN – DO NOT INGEST, INHALE, WEAR PROPER RESPIRATOR.

Now the Lithium argument…

We should put lithium in the water to combat depression, suicide and overall aggressiveness. The only problem with that is that, like fluoride, lithium is not good for us. According to Wikipedia, Lithium metal is corrosive and requires special handling to avoid skin contact. Breathing lithium dust or lithium compounds (which are often alkaline) initially irritate the nose and throat, while higher exposure can cause a buildup of fluid in the lungs, leading to pulmonary edema. The metal itself is a handling hazard because of the caustic hydroxide produced when it is in contact with moisture.

Side effects of Lithium:

• Mild to severe shakiness or twitching, especially in the hands
• Thirst, dry mouth
• Drowsiness
• Muscle weakness
• Giddiness or restlessness
• Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
• Seizures
• Slurred speech, blurred vision, dizziness, vertigo, coordination problems or blackout spells
• Bowel or bladder control problems (including but not limited to diarrhea and increased or frequent urination)
• Nausea, vomiting or loss of appetite
• An irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia) or a slow heart rate (bradycardia)
• Thyroid problems, including goiters or hypothyroidism.

The thing is, there’s probably already lithium in the water. That would explain why more people went to the Lebron James rally than the tea party rally protesting mandatory health care. Or why GLEE is on TV. Yeah I said it! GLEE SUCKS! And so does American Idol and Tyra Banks is EVIL!

But I digress…

We have to wake up. We have to stop tolerating this. Yes, at times, the Matrix is beautiful, but those fake boobs you’re squeezing… they’re FAKE! If you’re REALLY into water sports, you can’t be “virtually” peed on. Bottled water IS tap water! The Emperor is butt nekkid and don’t let me get started on what Outback is selling as Prime Rib steak!

Would we really create a Matrix where we were this unhappy? Human Race, GET OFF YOUR KNEES!

Missing Missy: A Graphic Designers Responsibility

Graphic designers are often thought of a resilient hard working individuals that at the drop of a hat can switch gears and work on multiple projects at one time. For the most part this is true, and we are happy to accommodate our clients needs, unless the project is completely ridiculous. A good friend, also in a creative field, forwarded me this e-mail exchange between a graphic designer and his coworker regarding a poor lost cat.
